When a patient is deteriorating, do you know how to assess them and what to look for?
How to have a systematic approach to assessing the person’s abdominal, neurological or ENT Status and report findings accurately.

Following on from Day One – being able to assess a person systematically will enable you to make an accurate decision on whether to call the doctor or send to hospital. If the information gathered is based on sound clinical reasoning, the clinician will be able to respond quickly and appropriately to disseminate the right information to the right people.
You will learn:
- Introduction to abdominal and neurological assessments
- How to do a complete physical assessment to determine the current status for people with abdominal disorders
- How to interpret bowel sounds
- How to assess a person’s neurological status
- Full blood count and electrolyte Interpretation
- How to conduct an ENT Assessment and interpret the findings

Please note that the session will require students to be active participants in the afternoon sessions where case studies will be use as method of delivery of content.
